Frequently Asked Questions

+ How often should I groom my dog

  • That depends on the dog's coat type, length and level of activity but regular grooming should be done about once a month
  • If your dog has a continuous growing coat (Shih Tzu, poodle mix) then about 4-6 weeks depending on the length you like to keep them. A longer coat requires more frequent brushing and conditioning.
  • Double coated or medium length coat (German shepherd, Labrador retriever, golden retriever) needs grooming to keep shedding down and remove undercoat, about every 5-8 weeks.
  • Short haired dog (pit bull or doberman) needs grooming as often as you'd like in order to keep the nails short, about every 5-10 weeks.
  • Puppies and dogs that have never been groomed before should be groomed more often in order to get used to handling and to avoid issues into adulthood.

It depends on what services your pet is receiving and how agreeable they are when it comes to handling during grooming related activities. Allot about one hour for baths. It can take up to two hours for grooming and deshedding. We have a two hour time limit for pets since they can get fatigued by standing for long periods of time.

+ Do you require vaccination records?

No. Squeaky Clean is a one-on-one grooming salon. We sanitize before and after each pet to ensure and maintain the best conditions to keep your pet healthy. We understand if your pet is too young, too old or allergic to shots therefore records are not required.
